Trace Route

 

1) Click on start and then click on Run.  In the Open box type CMD and click Ok.

 

 

 

 

 

2) This will bring up the Windows Command Window.  In this window just type in ‘tracert 204.8.240.1’ and then hit the Enter button on the keyboard.

 

 

 

 

3) After they hit enter they will get something similar to what is below.  But now they will need to send this to us.

 

 

 

 

 

 

4) To get this they will need to hold down the ALT key and click on the Print Screen button.  The Print Screen button will be on the same place on almost all Windows keyboards in same place.

 

 

 

 

5) Next they will need to open Wordpad and then paste in the information in Wordpad to send it to us.  The fastest way is to tell them to click on Start and then click on Run and type in Wordpad then click OK.

 

 

6)  Click on Edit and the Paste and the picture will appear.  To save it then click on File and save as.

 

 

 

 

7) When they are saving make sure that they remember where they saved it.  By default it will go to the My Documents folder.  Attach to email and send it to techsupport@fxcm.com.
